Since its introduction in 2010, the SIP Rev counter has revolutionized the traditional scooter speedometer market. Features that previously required the inclusion of additional instrumentation have now been seamlessly integrated into its design. Several years and countless customer requests have culminated in us reuniting with the people at KOSO to develop an update to our first-generation SIP Rev counter that we can be truly proud of: the SIP Rev counter / Speedometer 2.0!

Its exterior appearance remains strikingly similar to that of the original, and its additional functions are virtually invisible when not in use. The speedometer dial design is also largely identical to that of the original Italian one with a kilometer scale, along with the overall dimensions of the unit. These speedometers are available with either a black or white surface. Additionally, the version available for old-school Vespa VBB models can also be ordered in beige/white, providing an authentic sun-bleached look. Installation couldn't be simpler and requires no special knowledge. It can measure speed with the traditional speedometer cable and drive unit, or alternatively with the included electronic wheel rotation sensor kit, available separately. The speedometer function can no longer be interrupted due to faulty worms or speedometer drive cables, and accuracy is also improved. The rpm value is determined through its connection to the light signal provided by the wiring loom.

All data recorded by the device is saved for future reference by an internal storage function. The unit operates on 12V AC/DC and does not require batteries in the scooter's electrical system. It is also fully compatible with the high-performance Vespatronic and Parmakit ignition systems. To adjust and scroll through the functions on the electronic display, a small button is included, easily and discreetly located under the scooter's existing light switch. A clever feature: during the ignition sequence, the speedometer performs a complete functional check, similar to today's high-tech GP racing machines.

A new feature of version 2.0 is the choice between an analog speedometer or a tachometer. The speedometer needle can be used to display either speed or rpm. On longer trips, it is also possible to record the total journey time and the average speeds for both daily stages and the entire tour, which can be set individually. The total number of kilometers traveled, recorded by the original speedometer unit, can also be transferred to the displayed km value. In combination with the SIP rapid-flow fuel tap, with fuel reserve sensor, all Vespa models can now benefit from a fuel level warning function. To indicate the decreasing level in the fuel tank, "FUEL" starts flashing on the electronic display. In addition, the voltage regulation of the entire electrical system is also improved.

The speed readings on the analog dial of the SIP speedometer/tachometer designed for Vespa smallframe models range up to 80. These speedometers are intended for use on Vespa V 50/PK models, which rarely reach higher speeds or engine rpm. Now, finally, we can provide a high-tech alternative to the more basic reproduction speedometers currently available.
