The Vespa never dies
1983: the Ø 68.5 aluminium cylinder is born, a turning point in the development of the Vespa.
Made of Nicasil aluminum, with a super light piston and 1.2 mm semi-trapezoidal rings, the new cylinder immediately became a legend, a real must for all enthusiasts.
2008: The cylinder is updated, with the addition of the head with a hemispherical combustion chamber and central spark plug.
2013: the cylinder, although still made of Nicasil aluminium, is completely redesigned in the transfer ducts, both main and rear, and in the exhaust duct, and presented in three versions:

The MHR version differs from the SPORT not only in the exhaust port but also in the decidedly racing transfer diagrams.
Perfect centering between the head and the cylinder is guaranteed by two centering bushings placed on two studs, while the O-ring ensures a perfect seal.
2016: Completing the long list of updates is the new piston with a black skirt, the result of a molybdenum sulfide treatment. The semi-trapezoidal segmentation and crown remain unchanged, while the true innovation lies in the completely new mold, where new slots allow not only a perfect fit with the latest-generation cylinder, but also interchangeability with previous versions. The completely redesigned ribs ensure a lightweight design and even greater strength.

Suitable for use with heavily tuned engine crankcases , with carburettors of Ø 30 and above, with Malossi Power Exhaust BLACK Sound muffler Art. 3217143 .
Attention : it is absolutely essential to use fuel taps with increased flow rate.

- Cylinders obtained by gravity casting in specific steel shells.
- Material: primary aluminum alloy with a high silicon content, tempered and stabilized.
- Machining: on high-precision numerically controlled machine tools.
- Barrel with silicon carbide coating in a galvanic nickel matrix and cross-polished with diamond passages with very tight tolerances.
- Heat exchange surfaces recalculated and increased.
- Exhaust and transfer ducts designed and tested for maximum thermodynamic efficiency.
- Dimensional shape and roughness checks according to Malossi standards.
- Piston cylinder coupling selections of 0.005 mm.
- 100% hydraulic seal check carried out.
