SIP 2.0 Tachometer/Odometer for Vespa 50 - 90 - 125 & ET3/Super 50

Since its introduction in 2010, the SIP Rev Counter has revolutionized the classic scooter speedometer market. Features that previously required the inclusion of additional instrumentation have now been integrated into its design with utmost discretion. Several years and countless customer requests have culminated in us reuniting with the people at KOSO to develop an update to our first generation SIP Rev Counter that we can be truly proud of: the SIP Rev Counter / Speedometer 2.0!

Its external appearance remains strikingly similar to that of the original item and its additional functions are virtually invisible when not in use. The design of the speedometer dial is also largely identical to that of the Italian original with kilometer scale along with the overall dimensions of the unit. These speedometers are available with both black and white colored surfaces. Additionally, the version available for the old-school VBB Vespa models can also be ordered in beige/white, providing an authentic sun-bleached look. Installation could not be easier and does not require any special knowledge. It is capable of measuring speed with the traditional speedometer cable and drive assembly or alternatively with the inclusion of the separately available electronic wheel rotation sensor kit. The speedometer function can no longer be interrupted due to failure of the worms or cables of the speedometer drive and in addition the accuracy is also improved. The rpm value is determined through its connection to the light signal provided by the wiring loom.

All data recorded by the device is saved for future reference by an internal storage function. The unit operates on 12V AC/DC and does not require batteries in the scooter's electrical system. It is also fully compatible with the Vespatronic and Parmakit high-performance ignition systems. A small button is included to adjust and scroll through the functions on the electronic display, which can be easily and inconspicuously positioned under the existing light switch of the scooter. A cool gimmick: during the ignition sequence, the speedometer performs a complete function check, similar to today's high-tech GP racing machines.

A new feature of version 2.0 is the choice between an analogue speedometer or a rev counter. The speedometer needle can be used to display either speed or rpm. On longer trips it is also possible to record the total travel time and the average speeds for both daily stages and for the entire tour, which can be set individually. The total number of kilometres travelled, recorded by the original speedometer unit, can also be transferred to the displayed km value. In combination with the SIP quick-flow fuel tap, with fuel reserve sensor, all Vespa models can now benefit from a fuel level warning function. To indicate the decreasing level in the fuel tank, "FUEL" starts to flash on the electronic display. In addition, the voltage regulation of the complete electrical system is also improved.

The speed readings on the analog dial of the SIP speedometer / rev counter designed for Vespa smallframe models go up to 80. These speedometers are intended for use in Vespa V 50 / PK models that rarely reach higher speeds or engine revolutions. Now, finally, we can provide a high-tech alternative to the more basic reproduction speedometers that are otherwise currently available.
