A decisive factor when tuning an engine is a correctly set ignition timing. The SIP degree wheel is a handy tool that should not be missing in any workshop. This degree wheel allows for an excellent set up of your ignition system. It is compatible for use with all two-stroke engines including all Vespa and Lambretta models and also 50-180cc two-stroke automatic scooter engines. Instructions:

1. Determine Top Dead Center (TDC)
2. Mark the position of the arrow on the flywheel on the crankcase with a marker.
3. Attach the degree disc and align the 0 with the marking on the crankcase.
4. Also mark the desired ignition point (counterclockwise) on the crankcase.
5. Remove the degree disc, start the scooter and with the help of the strobe light check the desired ignition marking lines with the arrow on the flywheel. Readjust the position of the stator plate until the correct position is found. To save time and effort during maintenance later, permanently mark both the crankcase and stator to record their position in relation to each other.

In combination with the SIP Gradimeter it allows an optimal setting of the ignition point of the engines. It can be used on both two-stroke and four-stroke engines, no matter whether from a vintage Vespa or Lambretta, or from 50-180cc two-stroke and four-stroke automatic scooters.
