for Vespa /Lambretta/Scooter/Maxiscooter

  • Type: Digital
  • Power supply: Batteries (not included)

Properly set ignition timing is essential for any engine.

The SIP digital Gradimeter is a very practical tool that should not be missing in a well-equipped workshop, it allows an optimal configuration of the ignition point of the engine. It can be used on two and four-stroke engines, regardless of whether it is a Vespa or a vintage Lambretta or a two and four-stroke automatic scooter 50-180cc. To facilitate simple and precise positioning of the gradimeter, the SIP graduated disk is equipped with three holes to accept long fixing bolts. This allows mounting by simply drilling three holes in the battery compartment, making it even easier to read the times.

Instructions:

  1. Determine Top Dead Center (TDC)
  2. Mark the position of the arrow on the flywheel on the crankcase with a marker.
  3. Attach the degree disc and align the 0 with the marking on the crankcase.
  4. Also mark the desired ignition point (counterclockwise) on the crankcase.
  5. Remove the degree disc, start the scooter and with the help of the strobe light check the desired ignition marking lines with the arrow on the flywheel. Readjust the position of the stator plate until the correct position is found. To save time and effort during maintenance later, permanently mark both the crankcase and stator to record their position in relation to each other.

A decisive factor when tuning an engine is a correctly set ignition timing. The SIP degree wheel is a handy tool that should not be missing in any workshop. This degree wheel allows for an excellent set up of your ignition system. It is compatible for use with all two-stroke engines including all Vespa and Lambretta models and also 50-180cc two-stroke automatic scooter engines. Hints can be found on the wheel itself by scanning the 'QR' code.

Conclusion: An essential tool for every mechanic, whether hobbyist or professional!

Properly set ignition timing is essential to any tuned engine. This factor often separates the wheat from the chaff.

The SIP mounting bracket for the SIP Gradimeter is a very practical tool that should not be missing in a well-equipped workshop. In combination with the SIP Gradimeter it allows an optimal setting of the ignition point of the engines. It can be used on both two-stroke and four-stroke engines, no matter whether from a vintage Vespa or Lambretta, or from 50-180cc two-stroke and four-stroke automatic scooters.

This 2-piece holder for the SIP / PINASCO ignition timing degree-disc is an indispensable element when setting the ignition timing with the help of a degree-disc, which can then be firmly fixed to the crank pin.

We also have various adaptors available in our ' SIP Tools' range to fit a variety of crankshafts with M10 x 1.5, M11 x 1.5, M12 x 1.25, and M12 x 1.5 threaded ends. The adaptors are compatible with both the PARMAKIT and VESPATRONIC flywheel conversions and are available separately.
