Features such as continuously variable spring preload, a truly progressive spring rate and adjustable rebound damping are just some of the sophisticated features. Technical refinements such as a 14.0 mm thick lift rod, hardened lightweight materials and an additional guide plate for the upper rubber pads provide additional stability in the suspension. The high-quality materials are as simple as precise and detailed CNC manufacturing and a perfect finish including surface protection. A complete mounting kit for the lower engine mounting is included in the delivery of the SIP rear shock absorber unit. This kit contains nuts and bolts to fit all common lower engine mounting sizes (M9 and M10). We also include spacer washers to compensate for the different manufacturing tolerance guidelines of different steering column and shock absorber mounting manufacturers. With this second generation 2.0 series, the shock absorbers have been designed primarily with the focus on touring setups. They offer a more comfortable ride over long distances and poorly maintained roads. The piston shaft diameter has been increased to 14 mm, the lower mounting eyes have been reinforced, and the internal mechanisms and overall design have also been reworked. The settings range from maximum comfort to track stiffness.

Spring preload: Continuously variable spring preload means that the shock absorber springs can be given a tighter basic setting - the forces compressing the spring then encounter an initial pre-compression. The spring preload is achieved via counter-rings which, when effectively counter-rotated, provide an effective degree of safety against unwanted adjustments. Of course, the adjustment tool is also supplied.

Progressive springs: Our shock absorbers also feature a progressive spring, which means that the clearances between the spring coils become progressively lower (progressive). Only progressive coil springs allow for a truly comfortable response when braking or riding with luggage or a passenger, meaning that the spring initially responds very sensitively but becomes "stiffer" under further compression/load of the spring. To be able to tailor their individual performance to suit the larger riders among us, or other heavy loads, we also have a selection of springs available in varying stiffnesses and colours.

Rebound damping setting: The rebound damping adds a positive touch to the overall picture and influences the rebound characteristics of the shock absorber, which means that it regulates the response when riding over uneven road surfaces and potholes and also when braking. Depending on the model, there are between 10 and 20 different settings ("clicks") for the rebound level. Turning the rebound damping clockwise increases the damping level, turning it counterclockwise decreases it (view direction = plan view).

Conclusion: A successful alternative to conventional shock absorbers that convince not only with their technical features, but also with their style and design quality.
