Kickstarting your Vespa engine can be a grueling and sometimes painful experience, especially when you have a performance cylinder installed or your leg muscles aren't exactly Tour de France-worthy! If your engine isn't equipped with an electric starter, or you simply don't want to install one, you might remember the good old BUZZETTI kickstarter from the foldable days of old. We here at SIP have even had these dreams, but all our hopes for a revival of these production models were dashed when we were informed by the people at BUZZETTI that the original castings used in their manufacture had been destroyed years ago! We saw this as a reason to take care of ourselves...

With the obvious advantages of this 1980s classic in mind, we decided to slightly redesign it with some added features. The shape and positioning of the lever have been re-evaluated with its extreme sportiness, inspired by the appearance of the Buzzetti entry. The forged aluminum body is now available with a powder-coated surface finish in red or black, or even a combination of polished aluminum and red. The kickstart lever itself is made of a cast steel material and can be equipped with the original size PIAGGIO kickstart rubbers. When the kickstart lever is not in use, it can be folded upward 90°, safely out of harm's way. The serrations located on the inside surface of the mounting hole correspond to those found on the kickstart shaft originally found on the Vespa PX and Cosa engines.

Bottom Line: The extended overall length of this capable folding kickstarter provides enough extra leverage to power engines with higher compression ratios involved with performance cylinders.
