Power is synonymous with displacement, and to increase displacement, and therefore power, most 200cc engines, both racing and street, rely on crankshafts with a long stroke. To compensate for this increased stroke, spacers are used, attached to both the base of the cylinder and the head. This also provides a simple way to adjust the engine's timing.

With crankshafts with extended stroke lengths, the crankpin is further from the axle housing, about 1.5 mm for 60 mm crankshafts. This extra 1.5 mm pushes the piston past top and bottom dead center. To prevent the piston from touching the cylinder head, spacers can be installed at the base of the cylinder or at the cylinder head, or suitable heads such as those from SIP /MMW can be used. Timing adjustments are necessary in both cases. Depending on the type of racing cylinder, several preferred combinations have been identified, which our technical department has compiled for you.

For the MALOSSI 210cc, we recommend the following:

- 1.5mm spacer at the base: offers a wide rev range with high power and torque, combined with acceleration right up to the top end and sudden drop-offs.

- 1.5mm head spacer: Promotes heavier torque and quicker response at low revs and lower speeds. It's a preferred combination for touring, especially when paired with a higher gear ratio.

MAZZUCCHELLI long-stroke crankshafts feature a more pronounced intake timing, similar to racing crankshafts. The connecting rod is supplied with a polished rod and the lower connecting rod bearing is a silver-plated bearing.

Ultimately, they're the perfect foundation for powerful engines, whether high-torque touring or high-performance, high-horsepower. For those seeking even more performance, we recommend crankshafts with a long runout.

**Long Stroke Crankshaft Specifications:**

- Type: Long stroke crankshaft

- Stroke: 60 mm

- Connecting rod: 105-110 mm

- Oil seal diameter: 24 mm

- Bearing diameter: 25 mm

- Cone with M12 thread

- Including connecting rod bearing

- Use SIP / MMW long stroke heads with the MALOSSI 210cc

- SIP Road exhaust for tourism

- 1.5mm base gasket

- 28-30mm carburetors for sporty performance

The times above refer to the clutch side view. For example, "138/6 after TDC" indicates that the intake timing begins 6 degrees after TDC and remains open for 138 degrees.

Please note that the angle degrees are approximate as the crankshafts are hand finished.
