Vespa Smallframe crankcase shim kit
Shims are used to align the gearbox more precisely or to eliminate any play.
ONLY THE NECESSARY SHIM RINGS NEED TO BE FITTED, NOT NECESSARILY ALL OF THOSE IN THE KIT.
The kit consists of:
- no. 4 shims, thickness 0.10mm , external diameter 47mm
for main bearings, bell bearing, wheel axle bearing.
- no. 4 shims, thickness 0.10mm , internal diameter 10mm
to thicken the gear multiple towards the clutch
- no. 3 shims, thickness 0.10mm , internal diameter 25mm
to be used as a shim between the bell bearing, the bell and its seeger
- no. 3 shims, thickness 0.30mm external diameter 14.98mm
to be used as a shim between the kickstart selector pin and the crankcase.
On some crankcases and with some aftermarket kickstart selectors it is necessary
put these shims in order to keep the starter gear at the right distance from the cluster
